New Work

I am still stuck in my house because of the snow. Besides the side effects of soda withdrawal, I am really enjoying my time at home. Here are some new pieces I have been working on the last couple of days.

This is my new small sweet snow fairy Mína.

Small Sweet Steps: Doll Making

Another attempt at doll making has had mixed results. I am having trouble baking the polymer clay, if the temperature gets too hot it burns the clay quite easily. I burned this one but didn't want to give up on her so I painted her white. I am not sure how I feel about the results... I guess that is why I have been putting off working on her. Plus, I am not sure who she wants to be.

First Snow

We had our first snow fall here in Bucks County, PA. It was beautiful, the kind of snow that sticks to everything.

Nixie was very quiet and reflective during the snowfall.

Small Sweet Steps: Doll Making Attempt # 2

After the tragic burning of my first doll I went back to the drawing board and tried again. I would like to introduce you to Nixie. She is a woodland fairy, protector of all little fuzzy creatures in the forest.

Nixie carries with her an amethyst crystal to help her see if danger is lurking.

Small Sweet Steps: Doll Making

I was totally bummed out when I burned my first attempt at making a polymer clay doll. I have had this idea in my head for a while and was so excited to finally take that small sweet step into the doll making world but it didn't work out. I am not going to quit, I will try again. Next time I will use a temperature gauge.
